He has worked with institutes of National/International repute, in various capacities like Lecturer, Faculty of Law, University of Jabalpur, Jabalpur (1962-70); Senior Lecturer, Faculty of Law, University of Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, Africa, 1981-83; Professor of Law, Lucknow University, 1991-1994; Visiting Professor, School of Law, City University, Hong Kong, September-December 2005; Professor of Law, Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, India (till superannuation in 2005); and Human Rights Chair Professorship of the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi, 2007-2008.He has previously held the K. L. Arora Chair in Criminal Law.
         

Dr. K.P. Singh , IPS

Dr. K.P. Singh is an Indian Police Service Officer of 1985 batch, allotted to Haryana Cadre. He has been Director General of Police, Haryana, Director General of Prisons, Haryana and Director General in Haryana Human Rights Commission before his current assignment as Director General, State Vigilance Bureau, Haryana. A post graduate in Civil Engineering from IIT Roorkee, Dr. Singh continued to pursue academics and obtained LL.B., LL.M. and Ph.D. degrees in Law while in service. He has written 24 books and four monographs on different topics relating to laws, human rights and police training, including four collections of stories and one novel. He has written a précis on Local & Special Laws for IPS probationers undergoing training at NPA Hyderabad. His book titled ‘Criminology, Penology and Victimology’, is referred by law students as a text book in several Universities. He has written 17 research articles which have been published in prestigious national journals, including the NHRC Journal, Indian Police Journal, CBI Bulletin, and Haryana Police Journal. His books have been awarded by the NHRC, MHA, BPR&D, and Haryana Sahitya Academy.

Dr. Singh has vast teaching and administrative experience in various training institutions. He has been delivering lectures as a guest faculty at a dozen of professional training institutes including NPA Hyderabad, CJA Chandigarh, ICA Chandigarh, RGNLU Patiala, NLU Dwarka, NIPCCD Mohali, and PU Chandigarh.
